Bear right to reach KG next to water trough. A circular 6 mile walk around the Bath Skyline, through wildflower meadows, woodland and farmland, with views out over the World Heritage Site. Also, never stand under the cliffs as small rocks are prone to fall at any time. Little Solsbury Hill: No parking at the hill, but there is a public car park in Batheaston, on London Road by the river. Continue up steep steps and path through field. Leave wider track on approach to radio masts and take smaller grassy path to the left. Follow Bathwick Hill uphill until you reach point 1 on the Skyline map (behind National Trust branded bus stop on your right). Go through gate and straight over cycle track. BA2 6JP. If you want to keep on the path by the lake, Id recommend just walking on the path until it ends and then retracing your steps. From there you rejoin the Cotswold Way before heading back down the hill to Chipping Campden, where you can call in to Badgers Hall for a cream tea or the Red Lion Tavern for something stronger. Footpaths from Solsbury Lane lead you up to the hilltop, where you can enjoy amazing views and explore the remains of Iron Age hill forts. I love the variety, with a route that takes you across lush meadows and up onto the top of the hillside overlooking Bath providing you with the most spectacular views. This park dates back to the 18th century and it boasts landscaped flora and a palladian bridge. Its a disused railway line rather than a canal path, but you can enjoy walks, bike rides or jogs along it. It has a few ups and downs, but most people complete it in around two and a half hours. Of course, you probably wont do all of this while youre in Bath! And with the countryside on the citys doorstep, you can easily take to the rolling hills and tranquil surroundings of Bath. As the river carved its way through the countryside, it left behind the magnificent Gorge. But if you dont have time to do the full walk, you can still get a taste of the route with a Cotswold Way circular walk. The compact nature of Bath makes it ideal to explore on foot, with many of the citys most iconic sights all within a short walk of each other. Theres plenty of options to join the route depending on where you want to start and Ive chopped large sections off to make it shorter on a few occasions. Close to the village of Blagdon, this is actually one of the best Mendip walks from Bristol, but its fairly accessible from Bath too. 1 Bath Skyline Walk - a 6 mile walk along the skyline to the southeast of Bath. The limestone grassland slopes support a variety of plants and attract a number of butterflies, great for some spring and summer wildlife spotting.
